Gita Sen is Professor of Public Policy at the Indian Institute of
Management in Bangalore (IIMB) and an Adjunct Professor of Global Health
and Population at the Harvard School of Public Health.  She is renowned
for her scholarship, advocacy and activism for gender equity and health.
Among her numerous positions, she has served as the co-coordinator of the
Women and Gender Knowledge Network for the World Health Organization’s
Commission of the Social Determinants of Health and as a member of the
Millennium Project’s Taskforce on Gender Equality.

Albert Berry is Professor Emeritus of Economics and International
Development Studies at the University of Toronto.   He is a renowned
development economist who has conducted pathbreaking research on a number
of topics, including inequality in Latin America, agrarian development,
small enterprises in the development process, and the resource curse.  He
was one of the founders of International Development Studies program at
UTSC some three decades ago and has been a tireless advocate for – and
contributor to – the program ever since.
